Eastside Wastewater Transmission System Improvements

Jones Edmunds provided preliminary design, field data collection, final design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration services for the design of large-diameter wastewater transmission force mains and improvements to two lift stations serving the east side of the City of Bradenton and their associated force mains and gravity interceptors. These improvements are intended to:

  • Replace aged facilities
  • Provide flow relief to existing facilities
  • Provide increased wastewater transmission for the east side of the City

This project involves design and construction of new HDD fusible PVC force mains, including a major crossing beneath the Braden River, totaling:

  • 5,740 LF of 18-inch pipe
  • 1,361 LF of 24-inch pipe
  • 290 LF of 12-inch pipe
  • 908 LF of 8-inch pipe

The project also includes the design and construction of:

  • 3,690 LF of 30-inch gravity interceptor
  • A jack-and-bore beneath a CSX rail line
  • An HDD under US Route 301 and open-cut excavation construction

These improvements also include design and construction of expansions to two main lift stations in the system:

  • Expanding Lift Station No. 18 from 2,000 gpm to 8,520 gpm
  • Expanding Lift Station No. 24 from 1,220 gpm to 5,000 gpm

Jones Edmunds coordinated the extensive permitting effort required for the project:

  • USACE ERP and Sovereign Submerged Land Easement
  • CSX Pipeline Crossing Permit
  • FDEP Construction of Domestic WW Collection/Transmission System
  • FDOT Utility Location Permits

We are currently providing construction-phase services:

  • Shop drawing reviews
  • Assistance to and coordination with City’s resident observer
  • Review of progress payments, change orders, and RFI
