This year’s Florida Stormwater Association (FSA) annual conference was held virtually July 15–17, 2020. The online conference featured 3 days of education, two concurrent tracks with more than 25 presentations, continuing education credits, a virtual exhibit hall, live Q&A, and more.
Jones Edmunds’ featured presenters at this year’s conference were Brett Cunningham, PE, Managing Director of Water Resources and an FSA Past President, and Justin Gregory, PE, Senior Manager/Vice President. Along with co-presenters, they pre-recorded presentations on best practices, innovative methods, and expediting water quality restoration.
On Wednesday, July 15, Brett co-presented at the Pre-conference Workshop on “Getting Maximum Use of Your Stormwater BMPs” with Jeff Herr, PE, DWRE, of Brown & Caldwell and Shane Williams, PhD, PE, Stormwater Engineer with Alachua County.
On Friday, July 17, Justin, alongside Marc Van Heden, PE, Supervising Professional Engineer from SJRWMD, presented on “Restoring the Historic Hydrologic Divide.”
Brett made his second presentation on “A Faster Road to Water Quality Restoration” with Julie Espy, Director, Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration from FDEP and Tony Janicki, PhD, with Janicki Environmental.
Brett remarked, “as we continue to learn more about working in a virtual world, pre-recording was a smart move by FSA. It eliminated many of the problems that could’ve gone wrong during the presentations and allowed the presenters to provide real-time feedback to questions from the conference attendees.”
