In the latest Engineering Rocks Podcast, our host, Managing Director Ken Vogel, interviews Bob McKee, the Deputy Director of Public Policy at the Florida Association of Counties based in Tallahassee, Florida. The podcast was focused on the 2022 Florida Legislative Session and some of the key outcomes of the sessions.
When asked about the top environmental bills passed this session, Bob mentioned House Bill 7053. He said, “One of the biggest bills passed was HB 7053 dealing with resiliency. This bill establishes the Statewide Office of Resilience with the Executive Office of the Governor and provides for the appointment and duties of the Chief Resilience Officer. It also requires the Department of Transportation to develop a resilience action plan for the State Highway System by June 20, 2023.”
