Climate Adaptation Plan

NASA

Coolness Factor:

The project included a large stakeholder group representing many areas of responsibility across KSC. Coastal assessment. Under future conditions way- through-wave run up was important due to location sensitivity.

Description:

This study collected scientific climate change data and modeling tools developed by various agencies and organization, which were evaluated from an engineering perspective, and developed a standardized process that will be used to project climate change effects to KSC until 2080. After identifying that SLR will increase risk far more than rainfall changes and other threats, we developed three SLR scenarios for the 2020s, 2050s, and 2080s, and applied the results to facilities on KSC. Adaptation measures, ROM costs, and other recommendations were developed for identified vulnerabilities.
