This project was successfully constructed in a congested underground and pedestrian corridor adjacent to Baptist Medical Center Downtown. To maintain JEA Critical Customer service, the existing mains will remain in service throughout the water main construction.
Jones Edmunds provided design and permitting services to replace these ageing facilities. Specifically, the existing 8-inch cast iron water main along Prudential Drive, from the intersection with Palm Avenue to the main hospital entrance, was replaced with a new 8-inch ductile iron water main through open-cut construction. The 12-inch cast iron water main along Palm Avenue, from the intersection with Gary Street at the south to the intersection with Prudential Drive in the north, with the exception of a short 45-foot jack and bore, was replaced with a new 12-inch ductile iron water main to be installed via open-cut construction.
