Jafet Torres-Rivera graduated summa cum laude from University of Puerto Rico in 2004 with an engineer-in-training certificate and started working as a master scheduler and construction inspector for infrastructure projects. In 2006, he became a licensed professional engineer and passed to work as construction manager of residential improvement projects in PR. In 2012, he became a hydraulic modeler and consultant for Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority, working in the optimization of water systems, reducing non-revenue water, and improving potable water quality by reducing disinfection by-products. Jafet also worked around 2 years in the cost-reasonableness analyses for design projects as part of the New York Rising Resiliency Program. In 2017, Jafet moved to Florida as a consultant for Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department and City of Miami Beach to work in pump station design. Since then, he has specialized in planning and design of water, wastewater, and stormwater pumping systems across Florida.

Fun Facts

Due to the recession in Puerto Rico, Jafet almost left the engineering field to dedicate to the photography business.
