Congratulations Maggie Deaderick and the UF Concrete Canoe Team

Jones Edmunds is thrilled to announce and celebrate an incredible achievement. The University of Florida’s concrete canoe team, which included our very own Engineer Intern, Maggie Deaderick, claimed its fourth national title at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Engineering Championships in Utah.
The 12-member team and their innovative concrete canoe, Springseeker, placed first overall in a highly competitive field, besting top contenders such as Universite Laval (Quebec), California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, Virginia Tech, and Western Kentucky University.   In addition to the overall victory, the UF team excelled in various categories:
  • Second place in the Women’s Slalom
  • Second place in the Men’s Slalom
  • Fifth place in the Women’s Sprint
  • Second place in the Men’s Sprint
  • Third place in the Co-Ed Sprint
  • Third place for Best Technical Proposal
  • Third place for Best Technical Presentation
  • Third place for Best Final Product
This accomplishment underscores the dedication, skill, and ingenuity of the team members.  It also highlights the collaborative spirit and excellence in engineering that the University of Florida fosters. Maggie’s involvement with this remarkable team is a testament to her talent and commitment to the field of civil engineering.   Please join us in congratulating Maggie Deaderick and the entire UF concrete canoe team on their outstanding achievement. Jones Edmunds is a proud sponsor of such talented individuals and looks forward to seeing more groundbreaking work from them in the future.
