Making a Lasting Impression on UCF Engineering Students

On April 20, 2023, Director & Co-Founder Bob Edmunds gave a lecture at the University of Central Florida to students on consulting engineering, engineering design, and ethics. His lecture provided valuable insights and advice for students pursuing careers in the engineering field. Managing Director & Senior Vice President Brian Icerman also attended the event.

The lecture focused on consulting engineering and their roles in the industry. Consulting engineers are problem solvers who work with clients to provide innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. There was also a discussion on the importance of creativity and innovation in the engineering design process. He shared several examples of projects that Jones Edmunds has worked on, highlighting the firm’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible design practices.

Bob’s lecture addressed the issue of ethics in engineering by presenting each student with a copy of the 2019 National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Code of Ethics. He stressed the importance of upholding ethical standards in the industry and reminded students that their work significantly impacts public health and safety.

Bob’s lecture gave students a comprehensive overview of consulting engineering, engineering design, and ethics. His insights and expertise in the field offered valuable guidance for students as they prepared for their future careers in engineering.
