Florida Space Day and the Impact of Florida’s Aerospace Industry

Jones Edmunds was a proud participant in the 28th annual Florida Space Day (FSD), which was expanded to a virtual week this year due to COVID-19 protocols at the State Capitol. A cross section of Florida’s aerospace community, joined by middle school through university students, met virtually with Legislators to share the excitement, successes, and statewide economic impact of the aerospace industry in Florida and advocate for continued legislative support. Promoting workforce and tech-training programs, infrastructure investments, and economic development policies with our state legislators helps to ensure that Florida remains a top destination for the aerospace industry.

As part of the Steering Committee, Jones Edmunds Senior Vice President Terri Lowery took a leading role in planning social media for the event and served as a Team Lead for legislative meetings. As part of the social media campaign, Jones Edmunds coordinated with members of the Steering Committee and coordinated prerecorded videos of Lt. Governor Jeanette Nuñez, retired NASA astronaut Captain Winston Scott, and Space Florida CEO Frank DiBello, who shared their remarks on Florida Space Day and their passion for Florida’s aerospace industry.
