Jones Edmunds a Proud Sponsor of Engineers Without Borders (EWB)—Florida Professional Chapter

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, Engineers Without Borders (EWB)—Florida Professional Chapter partnered with FWEA to host their first in-person fundraiser for their water supply projects in Guatemala and Nepal. Professionals from across the Tampa Bay area came out to support the event. Jones Edmunds is an annual sponsor of this organization.

Jones Edmunds Engineer Intern and Vice President of the Chapter Marisol Alvarez said, “I feel so fortunate to volunteer with such a passionate group of engineers who work to improve the lives of the global community. Our work would not be possible without the financial support of our annual sponsors like Jones Edmunds. The fundraising event was a great success, and I’m looking forward to the next one!”

The EWB Florida chapter has a water supply project in Sololá, Guatemala, which includes the installation of a well, pump, and expanded distribution system for a community of 750 people. They also have a second water supply project in Khabari, Nepal, on which they are currently assessing the community’s needs.
