Jones Edmunds Receives ACEC-FL Engineering Excellence Award

We were pleased to announce that the American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC-FL) has selected the Crawlerway Analysis Study for the SLS Program to receive the Grand Award of Engineering Excellence in the category of Geotechnical Engineering as part of the ACEC-FL 2019 Engineering Excellence Awards competition.

This prestigious award recognizes projects based on uniqueness and innovative applications; future value to the engineering profession; perception by the public; social, economic, and sustainable development considerations; complexity; and successful fulfillment of client/owners’ needs, including schedule and budget.

We are honored to be a part of the team working together with NASA and other technical experts on this study, which is part of the larger vision of laying the groundwork for Exploration Mission 1, in which NASA’s SLS rocket will launch with Orion atop for a venture thousands of miles beyond the moon during an approximately 3-week mission, planned for launch in June 2020 from Launch Complex 39B at KSC.

Five honor and eight grand awards will be presented at the 2019 FES/ACEC-FL Annual Conference Banquet held July 26th, 2019 at the Vinoy® Renaissance in St. Petersburg.  More details regarding this year’s award winners can be found here.
