UTILITY ASSET MANAGEMENT

Palm Beach Solid Waste Authority (PBSWA)

Coolness Factor:

Jones Edmunds helped the Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority (PBSWA) implement a completely cloud-based Cityworks solution (using Cityworks Online and ArcGIS Online) to track the maintenance of all assets that make up its award-winning integrated system of facilities. This system effectively manages Palm Beach County’s waste by combining recycling, diversion, renewable energy, and landfilling.

Description:

Jones Edmunds has helped PBSWA implement Cityworks for Environmental Programs, Risk Management, Facilities, Grounds, and Utilities Maintenance Departments. Facilities moved off a legacy system and can now track reactive and scheduled preventative efforts by asset and work category using management dashboards. Staff can easily submit a Facilities request or report a safety incident from their phone using Survey123. The Utilities Department has about 160 preventative maintenance (PM) activities auto-scheduled for its 24/7 operations across three shifts with streamlined assignment, review, and close-out workflows. Jones Edmunds and PBSWA are launching all hydro and landfill-gas-related monitoring, sampling, and maintenance activities with single-click semi-annual regulatory report generation. Near future efforts will involve the configuration of Cityworks for recycling, household hazardous waste, and transfer stations.
