16th Ave Slope Stability and Bridge Replacement

Alachua County

Coolness Factor:

This was two construction projects bid together for one construction package. Funded through Florida Department of Transportation and FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, this package was for needed repairs caused by damage from Hurricane Irma.

Description:

The projects were slope stabilization along NW 16th Avenue where Hogtown Creek was undercutting the road in the middle of Gainesville, and replacing a box culvert bridge on NE 21st Street just north of Gainesville. Jones Edmunds provided construction contract administration and supplied Davis-Bacon compliance services, which included on-site wage interviews, compiling and verifying for accuracy the contractors wage statements submitted weekly, keeping an on-site project file for review by funding agencies, and leading funding agency review site visits.
